THE INFLUENCE OF NEW YORK’S CLUB CULTURE: MID 70s – EARLY 90s
Amulti-disciplinaryshowcuratedbyAnthonyHaden-Guest

The Last Party celebrates the creative ferment that exploded in New York’s club culture in the mid 70s, following Watergate and the Vietnam War. It became a phenomenon whose influence spanned three decades and crossed continents until it waned in the early 90s.

The Last Party is a survey exhibition of ï¬ne art, graffiti and street art, photography, video, fashion, and memorabilia that is profiled in Anthony Haden-Guest’s 1997 book, TheLastParty:Studio54,DiscoandTheCultureoftheNight . This exhibition will run throughout the summer at WhiteBox. Offsite musical performances and capsule exhibitions will be hosted at ACME and VS Gallery (dates to be announced).
